Justin Barcia has finally spoken out, following that crash at Anaheim 2, via a statement from Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing. The good news is that Barcia will race this weekend and, hey, he even managed to ride this week. That means that he cannot be suffering too much, right? The statement is below.

"I've had a pretty good off week. Luckily I got checked out and cleared and I'm all good, no broken bones or anything like that. I've been able to ride and get more comfortable back on my bike after that pretty crazy crash in Anaheim. All in all I'm still in a really good place in points. I'm feeling pretty good, I'm excited to go to Oakland and regroup on some points."

Justin Barcia was confident that he would put a mediocre event in Glendale, Arizona, behind him at the third round of 2019 Monster Energy Supercross, yet things went even worse. Barcia crashed out of the final main, in a rhythm section that his rivals labelled as dangerous later on, and was eventually helped off of the track by the Alpinestars Medical Crew.

Now, less than twenty-four hours after the incident, Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing have released a brief statement on what happened at Anaheim 2. "Barcia left the stadium to seek medical attention for a possible bruised tailbone. The team awaits further news of his condition," their press release confirmed. It remains to be seen whether or not he is going to be able to race in Oakland this weekend.

Despite the fact that he failed to reach the final chequered flag, Justin Barcia was still handed tenth overall after finishing seventh and third in the first two main events. Barcia is fourth in the current standings and seven points down on the current leader.
