When Tim Gajser crashed out of the final round of the Internazionali D'Italia series in February and sustained a fractured jaw, it was immediately stated that he had his sights set on Valkenswaard. Now, just a couple of days away from round two of MXGP, it has been confirmed by a source at Team HRC that he will indeed take to the starting line.
It remains to seen just how much time Tim Gajser has spent on the bike since his injury, but the initial statement made it seem as though he would only have a couple of days to prepare for the event. Seeing as he is currently just forty-seven points down on the series leaders, Jeffrey Herlings and Antonio Cairoli, his title hopes are effectively alive. It would obviously take a lot for him to overcome that deficit over the next eighteen rounds, but stranger things have happened!
In more positive news from Team HRC, Brian Bogers jumped back on a bike for the first time since November earlier today. There is still no timeline on his return, seeing as he spent so long off of the bike and did not have time to test with his new team before the crash, but he will be evaluated at the end of the month.
