Max Anstie has had a difficult month, but will return to racing at the Grand Prix of Russia. Anstie confirmed on his social media account that he has ridden the bike a couple of times, after getting back on it for the first time last Saturday, and is excited to establish a base to build off of on Tuesday.
"Back to the races this weekend," he wrote on his Instagram page. "Had a few days on the bike and feeling more like myself, so looking forward to Russia to get myself back into it." Anstie hit his head in warm up at the Grand Prix of La Comunitat Valenciana in March, following a freak incident, but returned in Italy just two weeks later. Things did not go well there though and he was instructed to rest for two weeks.
Max Anstie has not scored points since the Grand Prix of Europe, round two, so currently runs eighteenth in the premier-class standings. There are just thirteen points between him and a position inside of the top fifteen.
