The penultimate round of Monster Energy Supercross was broadcast on the main FOX network channel in the United States, as most readers know, which typically prompts the amount of viewers to climb considerably. Just how many tuned in to watch Salt Lake City on Saturday afternoon though?
"BIG NUMBERS: The @MonsterEnergy #Supercross race from Salt Lake City scored 836k viewers on @FOXTV, most ever for a race on any FOX network, and up 29% from 2017's race on the same weekend (647k)," a post from FOX Sports PR revealed. "The championship will be decided Sat. from Las Vegas on @FS1 (10 PM ET)."
That is obviously a great improvement and positive for the sport. What contributed to it? Most will argue that the fact that NASCAR was on right before helped, as some of those viewers would have either left the channel on or trickled over for one reason or another.
