Injury List: Blaxhall

Two British riders return

· 2 minutes read

This list has changed quite a lot since the opening round of the Maxxis British Championship, which was a little over a month ago. Four riders will either return or push through an injury this weekend, so that will give the premier classes a much-needed boost, but a handful of riders have been forced onto the sidelines.

In for Blaxhall

Mel Pocock: Astonishingly, Mel Pocock popped his knee out in the second moto at the Grand Prix of Russia. It went straight back in, however, so there will be no issues at Blaxhall. Pocock is currently twenty points down on Conrad Mewse in the MX2 title chase.

Martin Barr: Martin Barr has been battling ligament damage in his right hand recently, so is not quite at one hundred percent. It is possible to push through the injury, however, as he leads the EMX250 standings now! Barr still is not doing his normal practice programme though, so should only get better over the next couple of weeks.

Brad Todd: Brad Todd broke his C6 vertebrae in December, but will finally return to racing at the third round of the Maxxis British Championship round. Todd has been back on the bike for a couple of weeks now, so he obviously will not be at his best on Sunday. This is a step in the right direction though!

Jake Shipton: Jake Shipton fractured his L1, L2, L3 and L4 just days before the first round of the Maxxis British Championship. Although he tried to race at Culham, the pain was just too much and he was forced to rest. Shipton had his first proper day on the bike six days ago and will return to racing at Blaxhall.

Darian Sanayei: Darian Sanayei was riding better than he ever has before, until he tore his ACL at the opening round of the Maxxis British Championship. Sanayei is now back in Europe and plans to push through the injury, but he will not be racing at Blaxhall on Sunday.

Rob Davidson: A trapped brachiocephalic vain is keeping Rob Davidson off of the bike currently, as it is stopping blood from getting to his arm and hand. That is pretty gnarly, obviously, as it means that he has no feeling in his throttle hand. It remains to be seen when he will be able to return to racing.

Luke Norris: Luke Norris dislocated a bone in his wrist, then also damaged some ligaments, two weeks ago, so will miss an undetermined out of time. Norris simply stated on his social media that he is going to miss "quite a few races" whilst he recovers.

Jake Sheridan: Jake Sheridan broke his back at Desertmartin a couple of weeks and will, unsurprising, miss a significant amount of time. There is currently no timeline on his recovery.
