The Netherlands have become a force to be reckoned with in recent years, thanks to Jeffrey Herlings, and will be stronger than ever before when the Motocross of Nations takes place at RedBud in October. Jeffrey Herlings, Calvin Vlaanderen and Glenn Coldenhoff will travel to the United States to represent the Dutch.
Jeffrey Herlings and Glenn Coldenhoff were obvious picks for the premier classes, of course, and then Calvin Vlaanderen will race for The Netherlands for the first time in MX2, seeing as he holds a Dutch passport. Vlaanderen explained the situation in an exclusive MX Vice interview last month. "I am obviously still a South African and I am proud to be South African, but I am also half Dutch and now I am also proud to be half Dutch," Vlaanderen said. "I have a Dutch passport and I ride with a Dutch license and the Dutch Federation helped me with that. They paid for my world championship license."
