Jago Geerts had a vicious fall in the qualification heat at the Grand Prix of Switzerland, round sixteen of the FIM Motocross World Championship, and immediately withdrew from the race to search for medical attention. Now, a couple of hours on from the crash, Yamaha have confirmed that he sustained a broken collarbone.
Details are sparse currently, so the severity of the injury is unknown, but one would presume that he would return at the Grand Prix of The Netherlands in a month. The next two fixtures in Bulgaria and Turkey are on back-to-back weekends, which would not give him much time at all to recover. It is unlikely that this injury will impact Team Belgium at the Motocross of Nations in October.
