The final piece of the puzzle that is the Motocross of Nations is finally in place, as Team Spain was announced earlier today. One would have presumed that an announcement would have been made earlier, but injuries to a handful of their high-profile stars has made things rather difficult. Jose Butron (MXGP), Jorge Prado (MX2) and Carlos Campano (Open) have now been confirmed as the three riders who will travel to RedBud.
Iker Larranaga Olano would have undoubtedly been in the running, but dislocated both shoulders in July and will not be ready. Jorge Zaragoza, another well-known Spaniard, is dealing with a rather serious knee injury and the relatively inexperienced Ruben Fernandez has faced upheaval with a wrist injury and team switch. It is quite clear why making a decision was tricky.
