Social Spot: Sneak Peek IV

Another look at some new contracts

· 2 minutes read

Before social media, fans had to wait until the pre-season internationals to see the Grand Prix riders in their new colours. Those days are long gone now though. A handful of riders have shared images of how they will look when the next term of the FIM Motocross World Championship fires into life, for instance, and those posts are below. This has become a regular feature on MX Vice through the off-season, so stay tuned for more.

Gautier Paulin

Gautier Paulin has finally been spotted aboard his Wilvo Yamaha MXGP steed! Paulin has been testing in France with his new teammate, Arnaud Tonus, and logged plenty of laps with his new squad now. It is likely that things will look a little different when the 2019 FIM Motocross World Championship gets underway. The squad are expected to run black plastics like the factory effort.

Petar Petrov

Petar Petrov is back on a KTM for the first time since 2015. After struggling in his maiden season in the premier division with the Assomotor Honda team, Petrov has moved to the North Europe KTM outfit and is currently putting his new steed through its paces in beach races in France. The move was discussed in detail on MX Vice when it was first announced.

Shaun Simpson

Shaun Simpson was previously pictured next to his RFX KTM, but clips of him in action have now emerged. The squad have spent some time testing at RedSand, in Spain, already, but it remains to be seen what their plans are in January. It has been confirmed that he'll be racing his new steed at the Hawkstone International on February 17, so that should be his debut in orange.

Marchetti KTM

The Marchetti KTM squad will focus on MX2 with Iker Larranaga Olano and Andrea Zanotti next year. There are no clips of the riders in action currently, but this social-media clip does offer a first look at their bikes. The bikes will feature a lot more orange next year as it unfortunately seems as though they have lost Leopard as a sponsor. It does not seem as though another company will fill that hole.

Max Nagl

Max Nagl has begun testing with the Sarholz KTM team for the new season, where he'll compete in all of the European rounds of the FIM Motocross World Championship. There will be quite a few changes for Nagl, actually, as he will wear Fly gear and use LS2 helmets. Nagl will pass his knowledge onto Jonathan Bengtsson as well and act as his trainer, so it really will be a busy term.
